But it wasn’t always like this…
I’ve spent a good chunk of my young adult life following what I was told is a “successful” life: Get Straight A’s in High School + College, land a 9-5 CAREER, get married, have kids, buy a home with a white-picket fence, and you are SET! Although all of the above are AMAZING accomplishments, I can’t help but feel like there’s more to life than this. I’m not completely there yet, and I don’t plan to be. To CONTINUE to challenge myself thru cycling, travel, and entrepreneurship, along with maintaining a loving marriage and family, I’ve found the very essence of FREEDOM and JOY money can’t buy. Now, I can’t wait to share more of my experiences with you in hopes you are AWAKEN with the VERVE and SPUNKNESS you are meant to be in this world. Let’s go!
Let’s face it…Adventure Cycling, in other countries, can be a little scary. The fear of unknown dangers, unfamiliar roads, and the very possibility of getting stuck when you don’t speak the native language is scary. However, it’s also exciting! Such circumstances add to the adventure! Cycling the Philippines has been on my mind for a while now. With the Covid-19 crisis, I thought to myself, “What am I waiting for?” Life is short, right? So, here we go…I’m about to embark on a new cycling adventure. Will you join me? This is gonna be epic!! We will start with 8 simple tips for planning a fun-proof cycling trip to the Philippines!
This Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has been wreaking havoc worldwide especially among older adults and those with underlying health conditions. That doesn’t fit the typical mold for Endurance Cyclists, Marathoners, and Triathletes. They are probably the most healthiest / fittest people in our community! However, research shows that this community of athletes’ volume of training makes them susceptible to catching all kinds of virus including COVID-19. Yikes! Here’s WHY and what to do.
FLEXIBILITY has been a stumbling block for me when it comes to cycling. I swear I build lactic acid within 5 miles of riding! I’m always super tight, especially in the hip flexor area. It gets worse the longer I cycle…not good for an endurance rider. I sought the help of my good friend Vanessa at Yoga Vibe WeHo to see if YOGA can help solve this problem once and for all. I got my first real glimpse in the world of Hatha Yoga, and it didn’t disappoint! Check out what I got out of it. Eye-opener stuff!

If you are cycling more than 100 miles a week, this has become a healthy passion vs. a casual ride at the beach. Want to ride longer, or perhaps climb hills faster? Well, it takes more than just pedal and saddle time, it takes strengthening certain key muscles groups. Here are a few tricks up my sleeve!
Cycling & Weight Mgmt is already a delicate balance…ADD on an OVER-EATING addiction & you have a daunting combination. This is a tough subject for me. I am being vulnerable in hopes we can have honest discussions in the open, & use this as a leap forward to break the obesity chain ⛓ once & for all.
